Install Helio — Lume host setup

Windows 10/11 · 64-bit · also installs the gamepad driver

Android 8 or later · ARM64 devices · beta outside the Play Store.

Open the downloaded file and install it over Lume without uninstalling. Your settings are kept. Android may ask you to allow installation from your browser.

Before you start

A Windows 10 or 11 gaming PC (64-bit) — this is what gets streamed. Consoles (PS5, Xbox, Switch) are not supported as a source for now.
A Lume account: if you got an invite code, create your account from “I have a code” below.
Your phone, tablet or another PC to watch the stream: the PWA needs no client-side install. Download the Android beta APK above. Native iOS/tvOS apps are available by invitation through private TestFlight.

1 · Download and install

On your gaming PC, download Helio-Setup.exe (button above) and run it.
Windows may warn “Unknown publisher” (the app isn't signed yet). Click “More info” → “Run anyway”.
The installer places Helio in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lume\Helio, sets up the virtual gamepad driver, then starts the agent. Accept the UAC prompt required by the driver.

2 · Get your pairing code

On first launch, Helio opens a page showing an 8-character code (and a QR).
Reopen it anytime via the “Helio — appairer ce PC” shortcut in the Start menu.

3 · Connect your PC in the app

On your phone (or browser), open the Lume app and sign in.
Go to “Connect my PC” → “I have a code → Pair” and type the code. Your PC is linked to your account. (Tip: you can also point your phone's camera at the QR — it opens the app with the code pre-filled.)

4 · Play

Your PC shows up in the app. Launch a game — the Steam and Big Picture shortcuts are there for that — and stream.
The touch gamepad is seen by games as a real controller (thanks to the driver from step 1).
Helio checks for signed updates afterwards. During the beta, check the displayed version if support asks you to.

Troubleshooting

My antivirus blocks the file (Trend Micro, Avast, Norton…)

It's a false positive: the installer isn't signed yet (certificate coming). Choose “Keep” / “Allow” / “Run anyway” (never “Delete”). If Helio won't start after install, the antivirus is usually blocking the binary: add an exception for the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lume\Helio (i.e. C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\Lume\Helio), then run helio.exe from it.

Windows blocks the install

“Unknown publisher” warning: click “More info” → “Run anyway”. The app will be signed by public launch.

I can't see my code

Reopen the page via the “Helio — appairer ce PC” shortcut (Start menu), or open http://127.0.0.1:9876/pair in a browser on the PC.

“PC unreachable” or black screen

Check Helio is running on the PC (tray icon). Reload the tab — the app reconnects on its own. After a Windows reboot, sign in to relaunch Helio.

The gamepad does nothing in-game

Restart Helio once after install (the gamepad driver activates on the next start). In the app, make sure you're in gamepad mode (gamepad icon).

Away from home (5G) it doesn't work

Away from home, Lume tries a direct path first and uses the relay when needed. Both paths are free during the beta. Check that Helio is running, then restart the session; some managed networks may block outbound WebRTC/TURN traffic.
