The PC runs the game; your other screen receives it
Lume is personal game streaming, not a cloud catalog.
Install Helio on the Windows gaming PC. It captures and encodes the session while the Lume client receives video and audio and sends controls back. Steam, Epic, GOG and independent games remain installed and licensed on your machine.
Host
Helio runs on the gaming PC.
Client
Use a supported browser or a private mobile/TV beta client.
Session
Select the host, connect a controller and launch your usual game.
Direct when possible, TURN relay when necessary
Lume first looks for a direct route. A TURN relay can carry the stream when NAT or firewall rules prevent it. Relaying improves reachability but can add delay.
- Wire the host PC when possible.
- Use stable Ethernet or 5/6 GHz Wi-Fi on the client.
- The host location’s upload capacity matters.
- Physical distance and routing still affect responsiveness.
Browser, iPhone, iPad and TV
Desktop Chrome is currently the best-covered browser path in Lume’s public measurements. Safari PWA, iOS/iPadOS TestFlight, Apple TV and Android TV paths remain in beta. Check the live compatibility matrix before choosing.
Session-specific numbers, not universal promises
RTT and decode time are components, not glass-to-glass latency. Read the 120+ fps report and measurement policy.
A sensible first test
- Check the hostUse current graphics drivers and a stable upload connection.
- Request accessThe beta is rolled out progressively.
- Test locally firstThen move outside the home network to isolate routing issues.
- Tune graduallyStart conservatively before raising resolution, frame rate or bitrate.
